Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the most common questions about EpicSign and electronic signatures.
How does the signature process work?
The sender adds the document and the signers' email addresses. Recipients receive an invitation link via email, identify themselves using the chosen method, and sign. The sender sees the status in real-time.
Does the recipient need an account?
No. The recipient signs via the invitation link and does not need their own account for the service.
How is the document status checked?
Each signature request receives a unique identifier (UUID), which can be used to check the status publicly—without logging in.
What happens when the plan limits are exceeded?
In Free, Basic, and Pro plans, new signature requests cannot be sent until the next billing cycle or a plan upgrade. In the Business plan, overages are billed at €0.95 / each.
What does an eIDAS seal mean?
An eIDAS seal is an electronic seal compliant with the EU's eIDAS regulation, which proves the integrity and origin of the signed document. It is equivalent to an organisation's digital stamp.
What does the seal cost and how does it work?
The seal is an optional add-on that costs €1.50 / document. The seal is added only to those documents for which you want a stronger electronic stamp based on an EU-approved certificate. Basic use does not require a seal.
How do reminders work?
You can send reminders to signers who have not yet responded to the invitation. Reminders are available from the Basic plan onwards.
What's the difference between strong identification, passport verification, email confirmation and a handwritten signature?
Strong electronic identification (bank ID/Mobile ID) offers the highest level of assurance for domestic contracts. Passport verification works internationally as an NFC or non-NFC based identification method. Email confirmation is the simplest method—the signer's email is verified. A handwritten signature is a drawn signature that requires a separate email confirmation.
What file formats does EpicSign support?
